Casper man sentenced for pepper spray incident in Worland

WORLAND — A Casper man pleaded guilty Monday in connection with heated events that occurred at Rendezvous Lounge in Worland.

Daniel Jensen pleaded guilty to simple assault in Washakie County Circuit Court in Worland Monday.

The original charges stem from an incident involving a hot-headed Jensen and a can of pepper spray.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, while at Rendezvous Lounge in Worland during the early morning hours of July 1, Jensen sprayed pepper spray into the fan at the bar. The employee who was working at the time told police that the spray contaminated the entire bar and forced everyone out.

Jensen then left the bar and returned to his room at the Town House Motel.

Jensen told police that he was upset with the bartender whom he believed stole $500 worth of drugs from his girlfriend, so he sprayed the aerosol to get back at him, according to the affidavit.

According to the affidavit, investigating officers were able to feel the effects of the spray hanging in the air at Rendezvous.

Jensen was placed under arrest by the Worland Police Department after speaking with officers.

He pleaded guilty to simple assault and received credit for 20 days already served. He was also fined $290 for the offense.
