In 1949, between Navy tours, he met Agnes June Forbidussi at Mondo's Poor Boy Drive-In in Pueblo. They fell in love and were married in Raton, NM in 1950, with $2.50 in their pockets.

John then worked at McCormac Redi-Mix for several years. After Agnes passed away in 1991, he started working at the Catholic Church, then the Oasis Car Wash, and for a laundromat.

John moved to Oak Harbor, Washington for several years, and returned to Worland in 2006.

He was a great family man, and was proud to be the patriarch of five generations of his family.

John was a member of the Worland Methodist Church for 49 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, riding his ruby red scooter, dining out, traveling, being with the Methodist Men's Group for coffee, and he was a fan of the Denver Broncos and the New York Yankees.
