John Michael Braun

 

A funeral service for John Michael Braun, 66, of Dickinson will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 31, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with Pastor Jim Hessler officiating. In accordance with John's wishes, cremation has taken place and no burial will take place.

Visitation for John will be one hour prior to the service on Monday.

John passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 at his home in Dickinson.

John Michael Braun was born April 19, 1949 to Richard and Kathleen (Senftner) Braun. He grew up and attended school in Worland, WY, graduating from Worland High School. Soon after graduating, John met and married Terri Bartlett. To this union two children were born; Tige and Amy. Together they moved their family to Casper, WY where John worked for Chevrolet. After spending his time with the dealership, he started working for Burlington Northern Railroad Company. After working several years as an engineer for the railroad, John retired and moved to Dickinson, ND. It was here that he spent many years working for Walmart, and making Dickinson his home.

John loved farming, ranching, taking things apart, and renovations. He also enjoyed reading and studying the bible. John was always there for anyone who needed help. He was a member of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance and River of Life Church.

John is survived by his mother, Kathleen Senftner; son, Major Tige Braun; daughters, Amy Patterson and Sara Braun; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchilren; sisters, Rita (Dale) Daniels, Karen Brazelton, and Nancy (Michael) Sherman; adopted family: Blaise Dukart, Melanie Dukart, Katelin Dukart, Alecia Dukart, and Luke Dukart.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Braun, and brother-in-law, Richard Brazelton.
