WORLAND –The snow, wind and speed too fast for the conditions contributed to a single-vehicle accident Wednesday morning which sent two passengers to the hospital.

According to Washakie County Sheriff Steve Rakness, around 8 a.m. Wednesday a 1999 Chevy Tahoe driven by a male juvenile, who was unnamed by the Washakie County Sheriff's office, lost control of his vehicle on the snowy road and crashed into a utility pole.

"They were halfway between Road 11 and 23rd Street, lost control and slid across Lane 12 and hit the power pole," Rakness said.

The driver was uninjured but his two juvenile male passengers were transported to Washakie Medical center. One juvenile passenger had glass removed from above his left eye and was released. The front passenger was held overnight for concussion protocol, according to Rakness.

The Tahoe was towed from the scene. "There was extensive damage to the vehicle and it was towed by Washakie Garage," Rakness said.

The driver was issued a citation for careless driving.
