MANDERSON — Clyde Elmer Wiley, 96, of Manderson, passed away peacefully at the Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital in Thermopolis on May 13.
Clyde was born in Basin on Sep. 7, 1911, the son of Elmer Cass and Ora Mae (Kile) Wiley. He graduated from Manderson High School in 1930. He loved basketball, fishing and camping in the mountains. He married Treva Mae Huff on June 2, 1941 in Billings. Together they had three children, Lewis Elmer, Corliss Kay and Jo Dee.
Clyde was known for his love of farming, his hard work ethic, his honesty and for being a family man. He was a long time member of the United Methodist Church in Worland. After retiring from farming in his late 80s, he spent much of his time reading western novels, watching old western movies and spending time with his grandchildren.
Clyde is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Cass and Ora Mae (Kile) Wiley; three brothers, Harry Cecil, Robert Kile and Roy R. Wiley; one sister, Mildred Marcella (Betty) McCoy; and his wife, Treva Mae (Huff) Wiley.
Clyde is survived by his three loving children; seven grandchildren, Scott Wiley of Gillette, David Wiley of Manderson, Matt Wiley of Huntington Beach, Calif., Luke Foss of Manderson, Breean Waller of Basin, Kathryn Turner of Chowchilla, Calif. and Nathan Allison of Manderson; 10 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
A viewing will be held at the Atwoof Family Chapel in Basin on Friday, May 16 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Memorial services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Worland on Saturday, May 17 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Grover Briggs officiating.
