Rapid Creek Fire burns one-half acre in the Bighorn National Forest

 


SHERIDAN – Bighorn National Forest and Sheridan County firefighters responded to a wildfire burning about 2 miles northeast of the Big Goose Ranger Station on Wednesday, September 2.

The Rapid Creek Fire burned about ½ acre in lodgepole pine. A Forest Service engine, county engine, and 10 personnel were assisted by a helicopter and two retardant drops from single engine air tankers.
