US stocks make small gains before holiday; HP tumbles

NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks are ticking upward in afternoon trading, making small gains for the second day in a row ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S. A rebound in Pfizer and Allergan boosted health care stocks.
