Warriors look to contend for team title at state tournament

Senior Wade Goncalves works against Powell's Ty Dearcorn during Worland's dual with the Panthers on Feb. 11. Goncalves enters this weekend's state tournament as one of two top seeds in the 182-pound bracket and is one of four Worland Warriors who holds a top seed.

WORLAND – A total of 49 schools from across Wyoming will be represented today as teams converge at the Casper Events Center for the Wyoming High School State Wrestling Championships.

Class 3A is home to 16 of those teams, including the Worland Warriors.

And while some may hope to bring home an individual state champion or two, others – like the Warriors – look to be in the mix for an over...
