In a letter addressed to the County Commissioners, Croft said, “It has been my privilege to serve you and the citizens of Washakie County for almost 11 years.”

Following his departure from Washakie County as the Homeland Security Director, Croft will move onto the Park County for the Public Health Response Coordinator position sometime in the middle of May.

Applicants will be accepted as soon as the job opening is announced, and Croft said, “I will make myself available to be on the interview committee for the new hire before I leave.”

The issue of a time-crunch for hiring and training a new person came up by Commission Chairman Aaron Anderson and Croft said he would make calls to see if he can stretch his time left until May 13.

Currently Croft is working on a hand-off report to inform the new hire on current grants and projects that need immediate attention.

In his letter he said, “Thank you sincerely for this opportunity. I have enjoyed every single minute of it.”

The commissioners also made a motion, after the advisement of County Attorney John Worrall, to sign a contingency agreement for the renovations at the Big Trails shop.

Work began at Big Trails for the Washakie County and the Ten Sleep Fire District have an agreement to split costs 50/50 on the renovations.

Other business included a budget hearing on reserve funds transfer. Members of interested parties were invited, and while no one attended the commissioners passed a motion to transfer $116,000 of reserve funds to the Washakie County Dispatch for consults.

County Commissioner Dale Wagner was absent and excused.
