Vernice Joseph Touchet, age 77 of Aledo, TX (formerly of Kaplan, LA) passed away October 4, 2016 in Fort Worth, TX. V.J. was born November 1, 1938 and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958-1962 as a Jet Mechanic. In 1963, he began his career with Halliburton Services working on offshore rigs as an entry level roustabout. He retired in 1992 as a District Manager in Worland, WY capping a 29-year career with the company. His retirement consisted of many days fishing in South Louisiana with his wife, Wanda and spending time with his grandchildren. V.J. was a devoted husband, father and friend who will be dearly missed by all that knew him.

V.J. was preceded in death by his parents Odelon and Rena Touchet, his wife of 53 years, Wanda Touchet, brothers Joe and Oreal Touchet and son Todd Touchet.

V.J. is survived by his brother Jeffery Touche and sister Carrie Breaux, three sons Scott Touchet of Houston, TX, Chad Touchet of Aledo, TX and Duane Touchet of Aledo, TX; grandchildren Joannie Hill, Michael Searle, Jeremy Touchet, Chelsea Finlay, Tyler, Michaela, Samantha, Alaina, Nathalie, Collin, Seth and Alyssa Touchet.

Services will be held November 12, 2016 at Saint Anne's Catholic Church in Abbeville, LA.
