Harold F. Schaeffer

October 29, 2016

Harold F. Schaeffer, 84, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 26, 2016. He was born in Billings, Montana on October 10, 1932 to Ferdinand and Lydia (Schaible) Schaeffer. After graduating high school, he began a 46-year career with Billings Hardware.

In July of 1957, he married Patricia Joan, Wilson, the love of his life. This year marked their 59th wedding anniversary. Together they had three children.

During his career, Harold received multiple million dollar sales awards and was honored as "Top Salesman of the Year" numerous times.

Harold loved old cars and motorcycles and took pride in keeping them in perfect condition. From the time that his boys were old enough to ride motorcycles, he spent endless weekends dirt-biking in the badlands. This hobby stuck with him for life as he rode his 1980 Harley Davidson low rider until he was 80 years old!

One of his favorite events to attend with his children was the annual "Hill Climb" in Billings, and numerous car shows.

After retiring, he found a wonderful hobby in creating stained glass pieces. Many people in Worland have his work displayed in their homes. He spent many hours teaching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren how to play pool.

Pat and Harold also enjoyed camping and traveling to Europe. Their favorite place to camp was at the Medicine Lodge campground in Hyattville and loved having family come and stay.

Later in life, he loved attending all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events. He loved to help his family with any project you had including home improvement projects, car detailing, or yard work. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and only brother Edward Schaeffer.

He is survived by his wife, Pat and their 3 children, Brenda (Don) Rabun, Mike (Joanne) Schaeffer, and Mark Schaeffer. His grandchildren, Amber (Ryan) Clark, April (Marc) Bradshaw, Chelsie Schaeffer, Scott (Krista) Schaeffer, Josh Schaeffer and Jakob Schaeffer. Great-grandchildren: Carter, Caden, Jaxton, Kobe, Tyce, Hoyt, Liam, and Eden.

Memorial services will be held 11:00, Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Ralph Partelow officiating. Memorials can be made to the Zion Zest building Fund in care of Bryant Funeral Home, PO Box 524, Worland, WY 82401. Online condolences may be made at http://www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com.
