Raymond Howard Kindt

Raymond Howard Kindt, 91-year-old long time Worland resident passed away at the Worland Healthcare and Rehab Center on October 27, 2016.

Raymond was born on January 1, 1925 in Winnett, Montana to William Frederick and Florence Emma (Hagedorn) Kindt. He spent his childhood and gained his education in Winnett graduating from high school in 1942. Following graduation, he enlisted during World War II where he served as a rear gunner on a B-29 Bomber. After an honorable discharge he took care of his father on a small family farm. He worked on drilling rigs and construction to supplement income. In the 1960's he worked in Moorcroft, WY in the oil fields. He was very active in the American Legion in Winnett. On December 31, 1964 he married the love of his life, Joan (Pangburn) Bauer in Billings, Montana. He drove truck for the first part of their life together but then decided to attend Billings Business College. In 1969 the family moved to Worland where he gained employment through Holly Sugar. He worked for Holly Sugar in the accounting office until he retired. After "retiring" he drove corn and beet truck during the harvest for Clarks and also drove truck for Ralph Wortham Construction.


Ray enjoyed bowling, camping and fishing. He enjoyed his grandsons, David and Mike Swing and Great-grandchildren, Bryce and Breann Swing. He also served on the Building and Grounds at the Church for many years.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; parents; brothers, Roy and Bill; sisters, Fern Kindt, Helen Quigg, and Irene Lantz; son, Kenny Bauer; Daughter, Esther Ruckman; three nieces, Jeannie, Diane and Bonnie.

Survivors include his grandsons, David (Christy)Swing of Worland and Michael Swing of Poulsbo, Washington; great-grandchildren, Bryce and Breann Swing of Worland; niece, Sylvia (Jim) Gusick of Billings, MT and nephew, Butch (Belle) Quigg of Huston, TX.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2016 at the First Southern Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post #44. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to services.
