Ten Sleep extends superintendent's contract

TEN SLEEP – During the Ten Sleep School Board meeting Monday evening, after an executive session, Ten Sleep School Board members voted to extend Ten Sleep superintendent Jimmy Phelps’s contract to June 30, 2020 with a vote of three to two for the extension.

Board member Terril Mills stated after his vote against the extension that he would prefer that the extension be two years instead of three. The motion passed 3-2 with Mills and Jared Lyman opposed.

After the executive session board members also voted to have Desiree’ Egger to be the sponsor for the ninth grade class and AnnaMarie Whitlock to be the yearbook sponsor. The board accepted Ten Sleep School assistant middle school track coach Ross Hauptman’s resignation and approved his application to become the Ten Sleep School head middle school track coach. Crystal Cooper was named the new Ten Sleep School assistant middle school track coach.

In other business the creation of a school security camera policy and drug testing policy for employees driving school vehicles were sent to committee with expectations of reviewing committee recommendations during the March school board meeting.
