SHERIDAN – Forest Service and Dayton Volunteer Fire Department firefighters responded to a reported wildfire in the Tongue River Canyon yesterday. The fire was reported by a hiker at about 3 p.m. Sunday.

The fire has burned about 30 acres in timber and grass on a dry, south slope about two miles west of the forest boundary along Forest Service Trail 002, the Tongue River Canyon Trail.
