Army Corps to assess flood control with County Commission

Washakie County Commissioners and emergency management personnel will meet with Army Corps of Engineers officials on Tuesday to discuss the possible removal of a sediment island in the Big Horn River, the cause of several winter flood events.

WORLAND - Representative from the Army Corps of Engineers will meet with city and county leaders on Tuesday to assess February flood damage and evaluate a request to remove a sedimentary island from the Big Horn River, hopefully reducing future ice jams.
