Record rainfall Friday; more precip on the way

WORLAND — A precipitation record was broken Friday, Sept. 15 when .55 inches of rain fell in Worland.

The more than half-inch of rain, broke the previous record of .41 set in 1960.

According to the National Weather Service, Worland has 1.02 inches of rain for September, above the monthly average of .42 inches. For the year, Worland has 6.52 inches of precipitation, up .65 inches from the norm of 5.87 inches of precipitation.

More rain is predicted this week with scattered showers forecast today and tonight and again on Thursday. There is a 20 percent chance of showers on Friday. There is a “slight” chance of rain and snow showers on Saturday and Sunday.
