Katherine Claire Malin French, 27, of Sheridan, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 26, 2018, at her home with family by her side. She was born on March 2, 1990, in Worland, WY to parents James E. and Kimberly (Stutheit) Malin joining her big sister Maggie.

Katie graduated from Sheridan High School in 2008, and after accepting a scholarship to play volleyball, continued her education in Management and Marketing at Black Hills State University, graduating in 2012 with a Bachelor's Degree. Following graduation, Katie worked at the Deadwood Chamber of Commerce as the Director of Sales. While planning one of the many Deadwood work events, she met the love of her life, Tyler Paul French.

Katie and Tyler moved to Bozeman, Montana in 2014 where Katie pursued an opportunity with Farm Bureau Financial. Tyler proposed to Katie the morning of her first chemotherapy treatment with the promise that he would always be with her. They were married on August 15, 2015 in Sheridan, WY.

Katie and Tyler moved back to Sheridan to be close to her family in 2016. Katie worked in sales for the Sheridan Press. Katie was so happy to be back in Sheridan where she was able to play with her nephews, Carter and Harvey, as well as her wiener dog Izzie.

Katie was always so full of life. She loved playing volleyball, travelling, boating, and surrounding herself with family and friends. She found true joy from the simplest parts of life and shared her kindness and compassion with those around her. Katie had a unique ability to warm up a room with her sweet presence, bright smile, and beautiful soul.

Katie was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Joe and Hendrika Malin, and maternal grandfather, Keith Stutheit. She is survived by her husband Tyler, parents Jim and Kim, grandmother Brenda Stutheit of Worland, sister, Maggie (Peter) Widener, and nephews Carter and Harvey Widener.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the First Baptist Church with Reverend Kevin Jones officiating.
