Savanna Christensen, 88, passed away at the Washakie Medical Center on March 9, 2018.
Savanna was born on October 3, 1929 on the family farm in Byron, Wyoming to Orlo Perry and Savanna (Johnson) Sessions. She was the youngest of four children with a brother, Jay, and two sisters Marge and Colleen.
She enjoyed growing up on the family farm and adored all the animals and pets. She graduated from Byron High School and afterwards went to Billings to live with her sister, Marge.
During a visit back home she met Ned Christensen at a dance. On May 20, 1950 they were married. This union was blessed with five children: Shanna, Robyn, Todd, Jill and Tammy.
In September 1969, the family was devastated as Ned was killed in a car accident.
Savanna, in order to support her family, found employment during the next few years with Worland Oxygen, teacher's aide at Southside Elementary, the Soil Conservation Office and as a dental assistant. She began a career at the office of the Washakie County Clerk of Court. She was elected the County Clerk of Court and won every election until she retired at the age of 65.
In her retirement, she enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Worland Garden Club. She was blessed with many talents as she played the piano and was quite an artist painting with oils. She was also published in a book of poems.
She was a faithful member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Heaven is celebrating as she is reunited with her husband, parents, brother, sister, and family for eternity.
She is survived by: her children Shanna (Mike) Drake, Robyn (Alan) Hefenieder, Todd Christensen, Jill (David) Frahm, and Tammy (Rick) Keller; one sister Colleen (Cal) Asay of Muskogee, Oklahoma, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was most proud of her family and loved her eight grandchildren: Chris, Mike and Leigh Drake; Jamaica, Jennifer and Julie Frahm; Ricky and Tyler Keller. She especially loved babies and was blessed with 12 great-grandchildren: Isaac, Carter, Lauren, Kacie and Michael Drake; Michael, Haleigh, Mya, and Jaida Hansen; Keala and Kaia Damon; and Madison Lindell.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center. Burial will be held in the Deaver Cemetery 3:00 p.m. that afternoon. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the donor's choice.
