May 5, 2018

Esther Michel, 98, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2018 at Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Esther was born November 10, 1919 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Gottlieb and Mary Christine Flack. She married Henry Michel on November 25, 1936 at Zion Lutheran Evangelical Church. Four children were born to this marriage.

She was a fantastic cook. It was well known she could make a feast out of very little. She especially loved to make German food. She also enjoyed working with flowers and plants. Esther first found her love of them when she took a part time job at Hunts Flower Shop. After a while she developed a knack for making bouquets. From that time on she made countless beautiful flower arrangements for many occasions; weddings being the most fun for her. She also tried her hand at working at Kelly Shoe Store. She especially loved working with all the customers that would come in and out, taking pleasure in helping people find their perfect size.

Esther was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Evangelical Church.

The Matriarch of a 5-generation family, she loved spending time with those she held nearest to her heart. One of her fondest last memories was having a get together with all of her family, it filled her heart with joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gottlieb and Mary Christine; her husband, Henry; her four brothers, two sisters and her son Harvey J. Michel.

She is survived by her sister Darlene Amend, her sister-in-law Shirley Flack, and her brother-in-law James A. (Clarice) Michel; her children, Dolores N. (Bill) Micheal, Beverly A. (Gary) Hergert, Wayne A. Michel and daughter-in-law Sharon Michel; her grandchildren, Steven (Cindy) Micheal, Katy (Gabe) Torres, Stephanie Hergert, John (Nancy) Hergert, Jason (Chris) Hergert, Joshua (Aubrie) Michel, Jacob Michel, Jennifer (Scott) Williams, Jeffrey (Shari) Michel, Kaci (Aurthor) McCoy, and Taylor C.
