Born November 13, 1935 in Hebron, Nebraska, she was the daughter of Frank and Evelyn (Keith) Flynn. The family moved to Fairbury, NE and in 1944 to Worland, WY where Marial's father was Superintendant of the Wyoming Industrial Institute. Marial graduated from Washakie County High School in 1954 and attended Nebraska Wesleyan in Lincoln, NE for two years then transferred to the University of Wyoming graduating in 1958

On August 22, 1958, Marial married her childhood sweetheart, Terry Eckhardt. The couple moved to Thermopolis, WY where both taught school until retirement. Marial taught two years at Hamilton Dome and the remaining years at Thermopolis Middle School, a total of 27 years; also raising three boys. Following her retirement she enjoyed time with friends, bridge groups, church, reading, playing the organ and guitar, making quilts and especially time spent with her grandchildren. She was a past member of P.E.O., W.E.A and N.E.A. and a retired teachers group.

Marial was baptized into Jesus Christ in 1993 (Gal. 3:26-27), having her sins washed away by the blood of Jesus Christ (Acts 22:16). At that time the Lord added her to His church (Acts 2:36-38, 47) and gave her the name Christian. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ up until her death.

Survivors include her sons, Mark and Todd of Thermopolis, and Jay (Billie) of Laramie, WY; eight grandchildren, Chancey, Shaynie, Kade, Mandy, Zoe, Paige, Carter and Beau of Laramie; brothers, Mark (Cheryl) Flynn and Dennis (Nancy) Flynn, both of Cheyenne, WY.
