Worland native honored with Purple Heart

OROVILLE, CA – The Purple Heart medal isn’t handed out without a good reason. Sergeant Joshua Haun, 30, grandson of Lavonne Haun of Worland, earned it the hard way — from an explosion of an IED — Improvised Explosive Device — while on a normal supply mission in Iraq in August of 2006.
Bravery comes in many forms. Stubbornness and a good sense of humor are two ways to brush it aside. And a humble spirit.
