    The Washakie County Fair Board, during meetings July 1 and July 8 finalized several items for the July 21-27 fair and expressed concerns about ticket sales for country duo Thompson Square. According to their website, thompsonsquare.com, Thompson Square, is a Grammy-nominated husband and wife duo of Keifer and Shawna Thompson.     By GEORGE HORVATH Staff Reporter At their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, July 9, the Washakie County Commissioners unanimously approved the county’s budget for fiscal year 2024-2025 (ending June 30, 2025).   • Library seeks additional funding for children's center expansion project

    The Washakie County Library is currently in the process of receiving a grant of federal funds in an amount of just over $1 million for a project to expand the children’s center at the library. Library Director Karen Funk said the need for the library expansion comes from an influx in use seen by both children and adults at the library that is currently hurting their ability to provide space for both groups.     On June 26, 2024, Matt's lifelong battle with a severe seizure disorder was lost. He was born on October 15, 1999 in Cody, Wyoming to Edward Lee and Tracey Lynn (Kebler) Nusbaum. Matt was known as "The Happy Gentle Giant", riding his electric bike all around town.
