CC&G, Inc., the prime contractor on the Winchester Bridge, lifted the old bridge off the north side of the pilings on Dec. 14, south of Worland. It took two cranes and a pair of excavators working in harmony to get the job done, according to Wyoming Department of Transportation spokesperson Cody Beers. The old steel truss bridge will undergo testing for lead-based paint and asbestos. If those tests come back negative, the bridge will be hauled to the Washakie County museum in Worland, Beers said.
