    Current Ward 1 council member Rebecca George was elected as the city's next mayor, unseating Mayor Jim Gill in Tuesday's General Election Unofficial results had George winning 64% of the vote with 1,373 votes to Gill's 764 votes. There were also 117 undervotes meaning voters did not cast a vote in the election.     Unofficial results from Tuesday’s General Election showed Washakie County School District No. 1 Board incumbents Brett Argeris and David Tommerup keeping their seats as four-year term members. First-term incumbent Jonathan Hake was unseated by newcomer Becky Dooley. Tommerup, who has served as chairman for multiple terms, received the most votes with 2,165.     Washakie County results for federal offices in the Nov. 5 General Election were strongly in favor of Republican officials. The smallest margin of victory was for the presidential candidate, where Donald Trump won 79% of votes in the county, but did win the presidency.     The three area state legislators were re-elected following Tuesday’s general election. State Sen. Ed Cooper (R-Ten Sleep), State Rep. Martha Lawley (R-Worland) were unopposed and Rep. John R. Winter (R-Thermopolis) staved off a Democratic challenger. Cooper received a total of 7,930 votes from voters in his district.     The Wyoming State Bar recently released the results of this year’s Judicial Performance Assessment. The Bar, in conjunction with the University of Wyoming Survey and Analysis Center, conducts this assessment not only to obtain attorneys’ feedback about judges’ performance, but also to learn whether or not attorneys think those judges standing for retention should remain in office.
