Hot Springs County Airport takes flight

Officials have high praise for new Thermopolis facility

Gathering for the official ribbon cutting at the Hot Springs County Airport Saturday near Thermopolis are Hot Springs County Chairman Brad Basse (doing the actual cutting) and, left to right, former state representative Mike Baker, U.S. Rep. THERMOPOLIS - Thermopolis has its new airport.

Hot Springs County, state and federal officials celebrated the completion of the $20 million project during a grand opening ceremony Saturday.

Wyoming Gov.Matt Mead was in attendance along with former Gov. Dave Freudenthal, U.S. Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo. and U.S. Rep. Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyo.
