Angel Tree helps provide gifts for area children

WORLAND — The Angel Tree project in Worland helps children have a merry Christmas.

Angel Tree director Nancy Frederick said the Angel Tree project is another opportunity for people to give to others this year. The program is connected to the Community Food Basket program sponsored by the Worland Ministerial Association.

Through the applications for the food baskets (deadline was last month), children from birth to fifth grade have been accepted to receive gifts for Christmas, Frederick explained. She said four local businesses — Big Horn Federal, ANB, Security State Bank and Blairs — have posted names of these children along with gift suggestions.

Community members may pick children’s names from trees in these businesses, buy presents, wrap them and return them to the businesses.

“These gifts will be delivered or picked up with the food baskets on Dec. 18 and Christmas will be more joyful for many children in the area,” Frederick said.
