Pathologist: Victim on his back when shot twice

December 9, 2015

WORLAND — A Sheridan forensic pathologist testified Tuesday afternoon in the manslaughter trial of Washakie County man Anthony Haire that two of Jamye Don SoRelle’s wounds were consistent with him lying on the ground when he was struck.

Haire is charged with manslaughter and reckless endangerment for shooting and killing SoRelle the night of April 13. (See related story p1.) If convicted, Haire faces up to 20 years in prison, a fine of $10,000 or both.

At the time of the incident, Thomas Bennett worked in Billings and performed SoRelle’s autopsy under the supervision of Brookwell.
