Deadline looms for Ten Sleep municipal election filing

February 26, 2016

TEN SLEEP – Candidates for the May 3, election to fill three council and one mayor position have until March 4 to file for election.

Ten Sleep Clerk Lori Hughes reports that, as of Friday, only two people have applied for the openings. Mayor Jack Haggerty has filed for election to the position he was appointed, and resident Joel Sindelar has filed for one of the three open council seats.

Council seats being vacated by Mike Dante, Dennis Sheperd, and Don Decker are up for grabs, as none of the members have indicated a re-election bid.

The mayor and two of the council seats are four-year positions, with the remaining council seat being a two-year term.

Candidates may stop at the Ten Sleep Town Hall to pick up an application, and campaign and expenditures must be filed with the town clerk by May 17.
