Laws approved by Wyoming Legislature in March went into effect July 1

WORLAND — While the 70 mph speed limit legislation was enacted immediately following signature by Gov. Matt Mead in March, the majority of bills approved by the Wyoming Legislature became effective July 1.

Included among those enacted are:

—Wolf depredation compensation program. The act appropriates $60,000 to the Wyoming Department of Agriculture for the purposes of administering the program and funding damage payments.

State Rep. Nathan Winters (R-Thermopolis), who sponsored the bill, said the funding is still intact and is not in jeopardy under recent proposed cuts to departments.
