August 5, 2016

WORLAND – The Worland City Council approved ordinance No. 836 on its first reading, which repeals all of Chapter 12 of Worland City Code pertaining to health and sanitation.

Worland Mayor Dave Duffy said Chapter 12 Health and Sanitation of the Worland City Code was made in the 1950s and has ordinances that do not apply anymore, and joked, “this removes my favorite ordinance in the city that residents in the city have to put lime in their outhouse on a weekly basis.”

City Clerk Tracy A. Glanz said the chapter will be a reserve chapter and anything applicable in it is covered in other chapters.

—Council also approved Resolution No. 2016-5, a State Loan and Investment Board (SLIB) grant application for a new police vehicle.

The application would request $30,000 funding from SLIB to provide funding for a new police vehicle.

Glanz said the application is due in September and the meeting is in January of 2017, and the city wouldn’t know if they are approved for the grant until then.

Police Chief Gabe Elliott said the vehicle they will be retiring has over 100,000 miles on it and was used a police vehicle and then a D.A.R.E car.
