John Wilkinson, 80, of Post Falls, Idaho passed away on July 30, 2016 at the Coeur D'Alene Hospital. He was born on September 14, 1936, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, to Earl and Georgina Wilkinson.
He was proceeded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his beloved partner Leoni, his son Frank (Jeanette) of Eagle River, Alaska, grandsons Cory and Brian of Palmer, Alaska, his brother Jim (Ruthie) of Spokane, Washington, and his sister Gina (Bob) of Bonny Lake, Washington.
He was the editor of the Northern Wyoming Daily News for 6 years before moving to Cheyenne, Wyoming, where he worked for the Wyoming Hospital Association. He and his wife then moved to Kent, Washington, where he worked for the Kent Newspaper, before retiring in Post Falls, Idaho in 2001.
He was a 35 year veteran of the US Army/National Guard/Army Reserve.
His memorial was celebrated on August 5, 2016 at the Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, Washington.
