SLAY program gets first rural testing area in Washakie County

Coach mentor program intends to empower young female athletes

WORLAND – The Student Leaders and Athletic Youth (SLAY) program will get its first rural debut, when Washakie County schools become only the second in the nation to test the program. As announced Wednesday, Washakie County School District No. 1 will make the program, and the companion program Coaching Boys into Men, mandatory starting with the spring 2017 sports season.
