Catherine Grace Thomas

March 3, 2017

Catherine Grace Thomas, 58, passed away suddenly on February 22, 2017, at her cousin's home in Denver, CO. Cathy was a joy to everyone who knew her and she had a huge heart. She always had a smile, kind word, helping hand, or contagious laugh for everyone around her. She lived for her family and friends. Cathy enjoyed intimate family gatherings as well as visiting with friends at Storyteller. She got great joy from taking care of children – especially her "Jilly Bug." Cathy took care of everyone around her before herself, taking in anyone from stray kids to stray cats. She loved to cook and craft and was famous for her excellent crocheting and creative baking.

Born March 17, 1958 in North Salt Lake, Utah, she was one of eight children of Glen and Mary Ann (Udink) Thomas. The family moved to Thermopolis when Cathy was a young child where she attended Thermopolis High School until medical issues required further attention. Although disabled, Cathy continued to be active caring for family and assisting with family business.

Loved ones cherishing her memory include her mother, Mary of Thermopolis; son, Josh (Holly) Thomas of Thermopolis; brothers John (JoAnna) of Wichita, KS, Glen of Thermopolis, Jim (Stacey) of Lander, Tim of Burley, ID, Neil (Jennifer) of Riverton and Scott "Taco" of Greybull; sister, Ellen (Roger) Reed of Thermopolis; grandchild, Jillian; nieces Aspen, Tobra, Riley, Carly, Linsey and Lauren; nephews Peyton, Skylar, Jared, Steven, Cole, Phillip, and Jackson; numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Burial services are to be held at Monument Hill Cemetery on Friday, March 17th at 2PM. Anyone who has a memory of Cathy that would like to share or visit with friends and family are encouraged to dress in green and enjoy corned beef and cabbage at the VFW that evening at 5:30 for a Celebration of Life Memorial.

Cathy will be fondly remembered by so many people that she touched in our little town and beyond, and we will all be able to find peace knowing that now she truly is "fine."
