Traffic disruptions expected next week

WORLAND — A handful of disruptions to traffic are expected next week in the 15th Street/Big Horn Avenue intersection in Worland as part of the $1.13 Americans with Disabilities Act project.
Prime contractor EHC LLC of Deaver will be working in Worland next week, and there will be some closures of intersections to allow the work to be completed, according to Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer Dan McAfee of Worland.
The plan is dependent upon favorable weather, according to WYDOT project engineer Jordan Erz.
It includes:
—Monday, May 15 — 17th Street (by the health club) will be closed to allow for installation of a slotted drain;
—Wednesday, May 17 — North 15th Street (by Maverick) will be closed for removal of asphalt and grading base;
—Thursday, May 18 — North 15th Street will be paved and reopened to traffic within a few hours of paving;
—And Thursday, May 18 — South 15th Street (by Arby’s) will be closed for removal of asphalt and grading, but only if 17th Street is ready to be opened to be used as the detour.
Erz said the contractor plans to be done with work by May 26.
“Traffic delays will be minimal,” McAfee said. “There will be some inconvenience associated with the work, and we appreciate everyone’s patience. All businesses are open, and access to businesses will be maintained at all times.”
Contract completion date is Oct. 31, 2017.
