Gillette junior high school students arrested for threats

GILLETTE (AP) — Two junior high school students have been arrested for making threats to shoot other students at their Gillette school in northeast Wyoming.

The 14-year-old and 15-year-old boys were arrested Wednesday and held in Campbell County jail with charges pending.

Police Lt. Chuck Deaton tells the Gillette News Record that both students made numerous statements to others that they were looking for a gun to do a school shooting.

Deaton says they also told other students to wear a red shirt on the last day of school Thursday so they wouldn’t be harmed.
