Richard Joseph Bury 74, Worland resident, lost his 2-year long battle with cancer on July 10, 2017. Dick was born December 29, 1942 in Sheridan, Wyoming to Joseph and Eva (Legerski) Bury. He married Judy Calanborn on Oct 23, 1965 in Sheridan. They later divorced in 1997.

Dick received his early education in Monarch, Wyoming and Holy Name Catholic School in Sheridan, graduating from Sheridan High School in 1961. He started a life-long career in the grocery business during high school, when he worked for his Uncle Bill Fletcher in the Cloverleaf Bakery before school and at Safeway after school. He worked for Safeway Stores from 1959 – 1985. He was the produce manager in Sheridan, WY, Assistant Store Manager in Billings, MT, then managed stores in Forsyth, MT, Greybull, WY and finally in Worland, WY. When Safeway closed its doors in Worland, Dick opened Bury's Food Farm in the same building and continued to serve the Worland Community. He went on to work for Wea Soopers and then for Anderson News delivering magazines to Northern Wyoming from 1988 – 2004. He returned to the grocery business as part of the night stocking crew for Blairs and for a short time at Ace Hardware, retiring in 2006.

Dick was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church and Conquistador's Car Club in Sheridan. He was a member of the Greybull Elks Lodge and also served as a Steward for the Worland Elks Lodge.

Dick was an avid car nut owning several muscle cars. He enjoyed building custom cars, collecting die-cast cars. He also enjoyed bowling, yard work, gardening, landscaping, home remodeling, camping and his dog "Tigger" He also enjoyed watching Old Westerns and sports on TV and was a diehard Denver Broncos fan.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his two sons, Todd and Scott Bury of Worland, his brother, Thomas (Dannon) Bury of Abingdon, Maryland and 2 nieces Jennifer and Sarah.

A celebration of life will be held 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel.
