Firefighters respond to wildfire near Burnt Mountain

GREYBULL — Bighorn National Forest Firefighters responded Sunday to a wildfire in a remote location on the north side of Burnt Mountain in the Medicine Wheel Ranger District.

The fire was located about 4 air miles northeast of Porcupine Ranger Station and was two acres on Sunday.

The fire, suspected to have been caused by lightning, in burning in heavy timber.

Resources assigned include 30 firefighters and a type 3 helicopter.

Firefighters worked to constructed a line around the fire Monday.

There are no closures and no structures threatened.
