Peggy Davis

Peggy Joan Davis (Wilkins) passed away September 28, 2017 at the South Big Horn Basin Hospital surrounded by her children. She was born in Burlington, WY on May 14, 1934. She lived her life to the fullest and had a wonderful life.

Peggy grew up in Burlington and never moved from the Big Horn Basin. She married Lee Davis on May 15, 1952. They were blessed with four loving children, Patti, Nancy, Sheri and Chad. Lee and Peggy began their married life in Ten Sleep, WY and lived in Worland and Basin. After Lee retired, they moved back to Ten Sleep in 1992. Peggy was a member of Job's Daughters Council, Eastern Star, and was a member of the Grand Chapter of Eastern Star in 1990. She enjoyed travelling, camping, coffee groups, and following the grand children in their activities. She had many hobbies including, sewing, baking, canning, playing the piano, hand-crafting and collecting rocks.

Peggy loved her family and loved to spend time taking care of all the children. As a homemaker, she taught her children to bake, sew, garden, can items, and take care of the house. She lived to teach her children to be independent and shared the importance of enjoying life. Peggy always enjoyed the family activities and spending time of all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always proud of her family.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband Lee A. Davis, parents George T. Wilkins and Florence Wilkins (Steelman), brothers Forrest Wilkins, and George (Jack) Wilkins, granddaughter Toni Morris.

Peggy is survived by children Patti (Bill) Smith of Cody, Nancy (Don) Riley of Basin, Sheri (Leroy) Morris of Cody and Chad (Mary Jo) Davis of Cody. Grandchildren: Terry (Rani) Riley of Kalispell, MT, Dustin (Kendra) Morris of Cody, Wendy (Bret) Engdahl of Cody, Wayne (Angie) Riley of Basin, Cindy (Flint) Selby of Cody, Clint (Michele) Morris of Buffalo, Randy (Kassie) Smith of Cody, Chandy (Carter) Dunnam of Cody, Karissa (Marc) Davis of Lovell, Alex, Carson, Dalton and Corbyn Davis of Cody, 30 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by brother Harvey Wilkins of Basin, sisters Paige Barrus of Powell, Terrie Howard in Washington and Kathy Pierce in Oregon.

A graveside service will be held October 9 at 11 a.m. in Ten Sleep at the Ten Sleep Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Veile Mortuary.
