Walrath chosen to lead the 153rd Airlift Wing

CHEYENNE — Col. Justin Walrath, a Thermopolis native, was chosen as the next commander of the Wyoming Air National Guard’s 153rd Airlfit Wing.

He assumes command from Col. Paul Lyman on Nov. 4. Currently Walrath serves as the wing’s 153rd Operations Group commander, overseeing flight operations of the wing’s eight C-130s and more than half the wing’s 1,100 personnel.

“It’s a great honor to be chosen to lead the wing,” Walrath said. “I look forward to ensuring they excel at their missions and remain assets to Wyoming and the nation.”
