Record precipitation falls on Worland

Leaves still waiting to fall were covered in snow when the first winter storm of the season hit northern Wyoming Wednesday night and Thursday morning. There were about four to five inches in Worland and Thermopolis with nearly eight inches in Ten Sleep, according to the National Weather Service.

WORLAND - A record amount of precipitation fell on Worland Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service.

During the storm that began early evening Wednesday and lasted through Thursday morning, Worland recorded .39 inches of precipitation for Nov. 1, beating a previous record for Nov. 1 of .19 inches set in 1973. According to the National Weather Service office in Riverton, Worlan...
