Daily News honored for ice jam coverage

WORLAND - The Northern Wyoming Daily News earned a first-place Pacemaker award from the Wyoming Press Association at is winter convention in Casper last weekend.

Winning for spot news coverage in the daily newspaper division was ice jam coverage published on Feb. 14, with stories from editor Karla Pomeroy and staff writer Tracie Mitchell.

Judges wrote, "Great timeline and sub-headers help tell the story. Numbers are used effectively to demonstrate major impact. Good photos help tell the story. I really liked the "Return Tuesday?"

question and the "caution" statement at the end for well water users. Very informative and comprehensive piece of work.
