Dan Scheuerman retires from hospital board
June 30, 2018
WORLAND – Current hospital board chairman Dan Scheuerman announced at Thursday’s meeting that it would be his last meeting as after 15 years he had decided to retire from serving on the board.
Scheuerman’s five-year term ends today and Scheuerman told board members and attendees that he had decided not to sign up for another term. “I’ve been doing this for 15 years and it’s good for someone else, new blood, to come in here. Boy, it’s been an experience for me because when I came on this, I knew nothing about hospital administration. I’ve enjoyed it, I really have and I’ve enjoyed working with Banner; I think you guys have done a superb job and with the new hospital in place, I think we are going to see great things happen because of what this board has done, the administration and all of the employees here at Banner,” Scheuerman said.
Scheuerman explained that he and his family have things that they want to do together. “We’ve got some things that we as a family still want to do and I’m not getting any younger. We want to finish up some of these projects that we have going on and that’s not necessarily here in Worland.”
Banner Health Washakie Medical Center CEO Jay Stallings thanked Scheuerman for his service stating that he knows the challenges that Scheuerman successfully navigated over the years and asked Scheuerman to allow the hospital to do something for him as recognition at the next board meeting.
Board members Wendy Press Sweeny and Beth Voss’s terms also end today. Both Sweeny and Voss have chosen to sign up for another term.
Anyone interested in serving on the hospital board is asked to send a letter of interest to the Board of County Commissioners, P.O. Box 260, Worland, WY 82401.
