Kordonowy picks up triple crowns in three weight classes at AAU wrestling tournament

WORLAND - Worland youth wrestler Jeff Kordonowy traveled to Pocatello, Idaho, on June 22-23 in the AAU West Grand Nationals tournament. There Kordonowy showed how tough Wyoming wrestlers are as he tried his hand at Greco-Roman, freestyle and folkstyle.

Wrestling for the Billings Wrestling Club, Wyoming does not have an AAU wrestling chapter, Kordonowy won in all three styles of the schoolboy division, in three different weight classes, 110, 115 and 122 earning him the prestigious Triple Crown for all three weight classes.

To get a triple crown in wrestling a wrestler must win their in all three styles Greco-Roman, freestyle and folkstyle. This honor is given out to the best of the best and Kordonowy was able to bring home three of those awards.

Kordonowy also placed third in the 125-pound weight class for all three styles.
