BREAKING NEWS: Type 3 team ordered

Type 3 team called in for latest wildland fire.

WORLAND - A type 3 team was en route Tuesday to help fight the Denver Jake Fire that started about 16 miles southeast of Worland Monday night.

Worland Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched 9:39 p.m. Monday.

According to Cindy Wertz with the Bureau of Land Management, the fire as of Tuesday morning had burned 1,500 acres and was 0 percent contained. She said the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Aviation was working the fire with four single engine air tankers (SEATS), one air attack and one type 3 helicopter.

Wertz also reported that the Powerline Fire near Cody was listed at 60 percent contained Tuesday morning.
