September 12, 2018

WORLAND – With homecoming arriving quickly this fall, Worland High School’s Student Council has been planning for the week of festivities.

The schedule of events will be kicking off this Saturday with the Burning of the “W” at 8:30 p.m. The Burning of the “W” will be taking place behind Warrior Stadium when a giant “W” built by the shop class is set aflame.

Sunday, students will be arriving at the high school in order to decorate their halls to celebrate Spirit Week.

On Monday, students will begin building their floats that will be featured in the annual homecoming parade on Friday. The building will continue throughout the next few days until judging on Thursday.

The annual high school assembly-pep rally will start at 10:30 a.m. at the high school, open for the community to attend and watch the royalty announcement, class skits and more. After the pep rally, at 1:30 p.m. will be the Homecoming parade. That night, Worland Warriors will face off against Riverton Wolverines for the Homecoming game at the Warrior stadium at 7 p.m.

Saturday will tie up the week of events with the homecoming Dance.

Spirit Week dress up days include “Meme” Monday, Tourist Tuesday, Twinning Wednesday, Throwback Thursday and Spirit Friday.

With the parade on Friday, WHS is asking everyone who is interested in participating in the parade to contact the high school at (307) 347-2412.
