Body of Missing Worland man found

September 15, 2018

Richard Morris Rush

WORLAND – Worland resident Richard Morris Rush, who has been missing since Sept. 9, was found deceased around mid-morning Friday.

Washakie County Sheriff Steve Rakness stated that it appears Rush was involved in an ATV crash. Foul play is not suspected. Family has been notified and no further details will be released at this time until an autopsy has been completed.

Rush had been staying in his camper on the Big Horn Mountains at his hunting camp approximately two miles north of Big Trails and 18 miles south of Ten Sleep. When he didn't return home Sunday, Sept. 9, friends and family began to worry. His pickup and hunting gear were found at his camper but Rush and his four-wheeler were nowhere to be found.

The search began for Rush with ground personnel the evening of Sept. 12 when Rush was reported missing. Two fixed-wing aircraft were used to search the area Thursday and Friday along with ground personnel.

Thanks to all who have helped in any way, Rakness stated.
