Stars Go Dim to perform in Worland tonight

November 13, 2018

WORLAND – Christian music listeners are in for a special treat with a concert by Christian pop-rock band, Stars Go Dim tonight at the Worland Middle School auditorium.

Originally formed in 2007 as a mainstream pop band, Stars Go Dim is now the moniker for the Christian pop artist and songwriter, Chris Cleveland.

According to the band’s website, after having been at the helm of an acclaimed independent secular band, and more than a decade of leading worship at Tulsa Oklahoma’s Asbury United Methodist Church in front of one of America’s largest congregations, Cleveland finally found success with the Christian format with his debut self-titled album.

Since then, Cleveland has found triumph by having three Top 5 hits, along with a massive No. 1 radio song “You are Loved.”

They have toured with other bands and artists including KING & COUNTRY, Lauren Daigle and Phil Whickham. The band has also been featured on the Winter Jam Tour Spectacular, an annual American music tour that features Christian music of all genres.

Stars Go Dim is out of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was formed in late 2007. Since then, they’ve opened up for a handful of popular bands, including Switchfoot, The Fray, Daughtry and Graham Colton. They’ve also shared the stage with bands including Paramore, the All-American Rejects and The Roots.

With three EPs, two full length albums, and 10 singles, the band released their first full length album “Love Gone Mad” Aug. 4, 2009. Their second full length album released was their self-titled album, their first major label studio album, released Oct. 30, 2015.

Other band members currently include Josh “Black Panda” Roach on drums, Joey Avalos on acoustic guitar and Kyle Williams on electric guitar.

The band has been nominated for the Dove Award for New Artist of the Year, and has won two other awards, including Channel One News’ Hear it Now’s Artist of the Year award, along with the Absolute Best of Tulsa award by Urban Tulsa Weekly for Best pop-rock group.

The Stars Go Dim concert is tonight at 7 p.m. at the Worland Middle School Auditorium. Tickets are available online at itickets.com for $10 and at the door for $15. The concert will also feature The Color and Jamie Kimmett.
