Ten Sleep Parade of Lights Saturday night

December 14, 2018

TEN SLEEP – Driving around looking at Christmas lights is a favorite past time for many people and families during the Christmas season. Saturday, Ten Sleep will be bringing the lights to the community with their annual Parade of Lights sponsored by the Ten Sleep-Hyattville Lions Club. The parade starts at 6:30 p.m.

The number of entries is uncertain at this time but event organizer Becky Cooper stated that she believes there will be at least a dozen floats adorned with lights and music.

The parade will run from Cottonwood Street, which is next to the rodeo grounds, and travel up the main street in Ten Sleep, ending at the Flying A Animal Health Veterinary practice. The sidewalks on main street will have burn barrels to help parade goers keep warm and hot cocoa and cookies will be served.

Prizes will be awarded and the judges stand will be in front of what was once the Crazy Woman Café. Cooper stated that she was not sure what the prizes will be at this time because the Lions Club is in charge of the judging, categories and prizes.

Santa decided to take a break from making toys and preparing for his annual run around the world to visit the boys and girls of Ten Sleep after the parade Saturday evening at Dirty Sally’s.

The Parade of Lights this year appears to be blessed with good weather as the National Weather Service Riverton forecasts that the temperature that evening should be around 25 degrees with partially cloudy skies.
