WHS musicians, vocalists earn all-state honors

WORLAND - Fifteen musicians and vocalists from Worland High School earned all-state honors this month and were honored by the Washakie County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees at Monday's regular meeting.

Named to All-State Orchestra were Andy Deniz, trombone (second all-state selection); Aaron Vigil, tuba (three-time all-state selection; Caleb Fraser, bassoon; Anja Sheesley, flute (two-time all-state selection); Carmyn Buckman, percussion (second all-state selection).

Named to All-State Band were first-time selections, Jade Hefenieder, trumpet; and Sullie Keuntjes, flute.

The eight All-State Choir members are Annalise Newell, soprano I; Katilyn Bostrom, soprano II; Kyra Klinghagen, alto I (three-time selection); Colten Geary, tenor I; Raeth Tolman, tenor I (second selection); Nathaniel Nelson, tenor II; Chris Nicholas, bass I (four-time selection); and Gabe Durrant, bass II.

The All-State Music festival will be Jan. 21-22 in Casper.

Four members were also honored with All Northwest selections by the National Association for Music Education, Nicholas and Nyah Campbell for choir and Fraser and Vigil for band. The All-Northwest conference is in February in Oregon.
