WORLAND — Meg DeBolt, senior at Worland High School, and daughter of Tad and Betsy DeBolt, has earned the Regional Star in AgriScience. The best of the best among the State FFA Degrees recipients from the region.

Regional Stars have mastered skills in production (farmer), finance (placement), management (entreprenueship) and/or research (agriscience). FFA Advisors from around the region: Ten Sleep, Thermopolis, Meeteetsee, Cody, Powell, Rocky Mountain, Lovell, Greybull, Basin and Worland reviewed the state FFA degree application and the Star Battery Applications from each potential star in the forementioned areas, according to Chief Washakie FFA advisor Grace Godfrey.

Each of the regions in the Wyoming FFA Association are considered the State Finalist in the Star Award Program. Each finalist then must submit their Star Application to the Wyoming FFA Association along with their State FFA degree application. Each candidate was interviewed by Wyoming State FFA Officers during their chapter visit and then the interview score along with the application and state degree are used to determine the Wyoming State Star.

“Meg has had a agriscience research project all four years of her FFA career, she is the state champion in the AgriScience Animal Systems proficiency award area and has veterinary job shadowing to round out her agriscience experiences,” Godfrey said. “Meg has worked extremely hard to have several well rounded supervised agricultural experiences and is an excellent candidate for the State Star. We look forward to hearing the final results at the Wyoming State FFA Convention in Cheyenne, in April and are certainly proud of Meg and all of the things that she has accomplished!”
